HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

 We made spider cupcakes :)

How many clicks does it take to get a good picture of two boys on Halloween?

TWO clicks isn't that bad :)

One of the houses in our neighborhood got all decked out in true Halloween fashion. Welcome to the Eagle Mountain Cemetery :) Needless to say, the boys were a little timid about going all the way to the front door.
Beau is always in motion, as you can tell by the unfocused background in these pictures.

Beau didn't see the curb. He tripped. He fell. He spilled some of his hard earned lute!

Kyson aka Buzz Lightyear was on a mission: Gather candy. Get home. Devour candy. Mission accomplished.
Happy Halloween everyone. . .
Now let me eat my candy.
Dad, we missed you! Thanks for all the hard work you do for our family. You are the BEST dad any boy could ask for. . . and the BEST husband any girl could ask for. Love you! Happy Halloween!!!

Halloween Parade

Braxton's preschool had a Halloween party on Thursday. After the party they put on a Halloween parade to show off all their costumes. It was so cute to see him as Captain Jack Sparrow walking down the street with all his friends.

 Braxton's pirate face :)

Of course, Kyson wanted to get in on the Halloween fun.

How to carve a pumpkin 101

First you get a pumpkin.
Then you scoop out the guts!

Next you tape on the pattern.
After the pattern is securely fastened to your pumpkin, score the pattern onto the pumpkin. (We do not have a picture of this step so just enjoy the brief intermission and imagine yourself completing this step.)
You are now ready to start carving your pumpkin.

Sometimes you might need a little help. . . :)

When you're finished carving, bring the pumpkin(s) outside on your front porch.
Finally, it's time for the moment of truth. Place a candle in the bottom of your pumpkin and carefully light the candle.
. . . and voila! JACK-O-LANTERNS!!! Happy Halloween!

Mummy Pizzas!

We love Halloween! So I was excited when I found this recipe for mummy pizzas. It was fast, easy, and kid friendly! Here's how ours turned out
The kids had so much fun putting on olives for the eyes and string cheese for the wrappings! Want to know how we did it?

Ingredients
  • English muffins
  • Pizza sauce
  • Black olives
  • Scallions
  • Red or green pepper
  • Cheese sticks or slices
Instructions
  1. Heat the oven to 350ยบ F. For each mummy, spread a tablespoon of pizza sauce onto half of an English muffin (toast it first, if you like).
  2. Set olive slices in place for eyes and add round slices of green onion or bits of red or green pepper for pupils.
  3. Lay strips of cheese (we used a pulled-apart cheese stick) across the muffin for the mummy?s wrappings.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the muffin is toasty.
